Topic: Is there a quick method for duplicating some of my web site's pages in my presentation?
  Tip:

Here is a quick method: Take screen shots of your web pages directly from a browser and import them into your Presentation Pro presentation as full screen images. Sure Presentation Pro provides you with all of the tools to build custom pages, but you don't always need to use them. Sometimes the simplest method is the best method.

1. Take a screen shot of your web page ("Command-Shift-3" on a Mac or "PrintScreen" on a Windows PC)

2. Edit the screen shot in an image edititing program such as PhotoShop or ImageEdit. Crop or resize the image to approximately 800 pixes wide by 600 pixels tall so that it fits in your presentation screen. Save the image as a Gif or Jpeg.

3. Import the finished image into your presentation and use the scale tool from the imageWizard pop-up to adjust the size.

This method of importing full screen images (800 x 600) can also be used for developing completely custom pages in your favorite page layout, image editing or presentation program for importing directly into your Presentation Pro CD.

Don't forget, if you want to rebuild your web pages in Presentation Pro, you can also select the web text from your browser and copy it to your computer's clip board. Then paste it into text boxes in Presentation Pro.

Topic: How do I burn a CD-ROM of my Presentation so that it auto-launches when the CD is placed in a Windows CD drive?
  Tip:

After you have saved the finishing touches to your presentation, quit the "Edit" mode and re-launch the presentation in "Player" mode from the Start.exe (on the Mac it is the "Launch" application). On the PC you can also view your presentation from the "view presentation" option in the Presentation Pro directory within your computers Start menu. Make sure the presentation displays properly before burning a CD. If it is okay, quit the player mode and open the folder named "Your CD-ROM" within the Presentation Pro directory. Once again, PC users may access this directory by selecting the "Publish My CD" option in the Presentation Pro directory within your computers Start menu. Once this folder is open you will see 4 files named Autorun.inf, Edit.exe, Start.exe, and Presentation (on the Mac you will have 5 files called Autorun.inf, Edit, Launch, Start.exe, and Presentation). Copy all of the files except the Edit file into the root level of your blank CD-R. Depending on the type of CD-ROM burning softeare you are using, you may be able to drag and drop these files or you may have to browse and select the individual files. When we say copy the files into the root level of the CD, that means they should not be placed in a sub folder or directory of any kind but directly onto the CD.

Here are the basic steps:

1. Check your presentation to make sure it's playing correctly

2. Open the "Your CD-ROM" folder from within the Presentation Pro directory

3. Copy the required files to the root level of your blank CD. Those files are Autorun.inf, Start.exe, and Presentation. Do not copy over the Edit file.

4. Burn your CD and then test it before burning additional copies

Topic: How do I save multiple presentations? Where is the "Save As" feature?
  Tip:

Yes, you can absolutely create and save as many presentations as you like... but where is the "Save As" feature?? There is none. For Presentation Pro you simply duplicate or copy each new presentation to your desktop (or where ever you wish to store your presentations) by selecting the "Your CD-ROM" folder (found within the Presentation Pro directory) and duplicating it. This folder is completely self contained. You can rename the folder to differentiate between your different presentations but never rename the individual files within the folder or they will not work. That is why there is no "Save As" feature because you may not re-name the individual files.

Here are the basic steps:

1. Select the "Your CD-ROM" folder found within the Presentation Pro directory

2. Copy it to your computer's desktop

3. Rename the duplicated folder whatever you would like to call that particular presentation

4. Repeat for each new presentation

Topic: How do playback a movie in Presentation Pro?
  Tip:

Presentation Pro can import and play back a movie on the intro screen. Because Presentation Pro is designed to be cross platform (Mac and Windows) it supports the QuickTime movie playback method or ".mov" extension files. This format will playback on most computers with QuickTime or Windows Media Player installed. Also most video editing software will save directly in the QuickTime or ".mov" format. Otherwise you can purchase QuickTime Pro from Apple.com for about $25 and convert your AVI or other movie format to MOV.

Here are the basic steps:

1. Save or cinvert your movie file in the QuickTime (.mov) format

2. Go to the "movie" tab of the edit panel within your presentation and select "Import"

3. Browse to the location of your movie file and select it. Now selected it from the list of imported movies within your presentation

4. Make sure the "Play intro movie" option is selected (checked). The movie will now play during the introduction of the presentation
